December 9, 2012

Today Melanie had a busy day!  First she had her Sunday School Christmas Program.  She was an Angel.  The teacher's told them to sing nice and loud!  The teacher told me afterwards that she was loudest singer they had.  I wasn't surprised!

Afterwards we (mommy) made a snowman.  It didn't stay up that long, but it was fun while it lasted.  Since we had a carrot nose Melanie decided that it should have tomato eyes!

After that we went to Great Grandpa Syl's 87th Birthday party for cake (sorry no pictures!)

And following that we went to the Love Lights program at the UW Hospital in Honor of Grandpa Dave.

Here is a picture of Grandma Jeanne, Aunt Kelly, Daddy, Melanie and Mommy with the Christmas tree lights behind us in honor of Grandpa Dave.

And a picture of Grandma Jeanne with her sister Sue.

Today Melanie went to James and Marissa's 6th and 4th Birthday Party!  It was at Pump it Up.  This is the second time she has been there and she had a BLAST.  On the way home she told mommy that "that was the best party ever!"

Getting ready to go down the big slide.

She went down this about 20 times in a row until she finally got bored of it. - and it was not an easy climb to the top!
Group picture at the end.  Birthday Boy and Girl at the front.  - all the kids were tuckered out!
Another favorite, riding this car, even though she has one just like it!

Melanie got home from school and as Daddy promised, he would save a spot for her to paint (prime actually) some of her new  (or her soon to be new brother's) bedroom.
She doesn't really have any "paint" clothes" so this is what I could find!
She now has a paint shirt and socks, for the rest of the year anyways, until she outgrows it!

Today Melanie got to try out her Halloween costume for the first time!   We had our neighborhood Halloween parade.  This year was the first year she walked in it instead of watching it.

Pumpkin time!

Melanie has been very busy with pumpkins the last 2 weeks!

Here we are visiting Heck's on the way home from Spring Green one Sunday afternoon.

She has no idea what that sign says...

Picking out a pumpkin, but she couldn't get this one because we told her it had to be one that she could lift and this was too heavy!

This one was heavy, but not too heavy!

The best part was the wagon ride back

Then about a week later she got to go on a field trip with her school to an apple orchard in Fitchburg.  Daddy was a chaperone so we got some pictures.

Here is Melanie standing with some of her friends.  Her best friend Aurora, on the left bending down, then Melanie, Shaylee and Mathew.

Getting ready to enter the apple orchard.
Teacher Robin is in the back with the orange coat and sunglasses.

Picked out her pumpkin (had to be smaller than their head).  It's in a plastic bag.

And Melanie and Dad on the "cheese bus" on the ride home.  Melanie thought that there was going to be a picture of cheese on the side, but it turns out her teacher called it a "cheese bus" just because it is yellow.

And then the next night we got to go to school and carve the pumpkins.  She was not at all interested in this, and she pretty much just colored and played with her friend.  So this is the only shot we got!

Here is Melanie opening up her Halloween gift from Beth.  Thanks Beth!  We had to put the socks on right away with her witch shirt.  She loves them!

Here we are celebrating mom's 33rd birthday!  Daddy even dressed me in my I heart mom shirt in honor of mommy.  Not quite sure why, but daddy decided to make a birthday cake and put it in two bread loaves instead of a cake pan, so yes, even though this looks like bread, it is actually part one of a two part cake...  that's typical daddy though.  The cake was really good though!  Melanie cleverly named it "birthday bread" all by herself.

September 30, 2012

Somebody is getting very elaborate in her pictures.  It can take her a good 30 - 45 minutes to do a picture anymore because of all of her details.  Drawing is her favorite thing to do. It's the first thing she does when she wakes up in the morning and the first thing she does when she gets home from school.

These are some signature Melanie designs from today.

A close up of the one she just drew.  (the brown under the grass is dirt she says).

This one isn't quite as obvious as to what it is as the last one, but she says it's a rocket ship with "feelers" she calls them.  I love how the suns always have to have a smiley face.  Also, the door in this picture has a smiley face.

Thanks to Aunt Katie's "daddy wears a diaper" trick, we actually got some natural smiles tonight!

Today was our Annual Good Neighbor Festival Parade at Daddy's Uncle Steve's house.

I had fun watching the parade with 2nd Cousin Aubrey.
It was wet out during the parade but we still got lots of treats!

And we also got some cool toys.  Here we are trying out our "slinky glasses"

Mom and me watching the parade

And all night after the parade it was, "can you take a picture of me in my funny glasses?"

July 1, 2012

I had a fun weekend!  I had my first sleepover with Cousin Abbi at my house!  I showed her all of the parks around my house, we did a lot of bike riding around in circles in the house,
and a lot of pretend play!

Here we are going out to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the day on Sunday.
I let Abbi borrow my sunglasses.

This is right before playing outside in the sprinkler/slip 'n slide.
Abbi let me borrow her extra swimsuit since mom and dad forgot mine at home.

Here I am on Grandma and Grandpa's swing - which I liked much better than the sprinkler and slip 'n slide.

Going to check out the slip 'n slide.
I was really excited about it at first, but I really didn't like it and let the "big kids" and Logan and Abbi go down it most the time.

Daddy going down the slip 'n slide!

Kelly came home from work and joined us!

Justin going down the slip 'n slide!

I really didn't like the slip 'n slide.

I tried it again with Kelly.  This was better - nice and slow, and with no water on.  (notice how daddy had to stop the water from going, this was the only way I would go down)  Logan and Abbi are wondering, "where did the water go?"

Daddy with his brothers and sisters, and my aunts and uncles.
Uncle Darren's belly got a bit red from the grass burns!

Happy Father's day!  I pretty much have the best dad in the world (that's what mom says anyways)

For Father's day we went to a Madison Mallard's game!

A thumbs up

 A thumbs down

 And a Thumbs Sideways

 Playing Barbie's with Marissa

 Whoops, eyes closed.

Being a bit silly - it was a long game for a 3 year old.

Taking a photo with the duck.
